Short Story Excerp "As The Clock Rings Twelve"

The forest rings with life. In the day the sound of the busy lives of small animal citizens and all of nature echo through the trees. Falling rain, flowing trees, forming dew, and living life all of the forest sings of the nectar of life. At night the denizens of night sing with passion. This was spring. As fall comes the ground turns orange covered by the carpet of nature and all the green returns to an earthly state. Small animals abound, but not like spring. They sense the coming of the cold winter and prepare for the blanket of ice. This leaves the nights cold and quiet. The night is dark and quiet, and the orange carpet is consumed by the dark night completely. Winter Comes. All the woods are a blanket of white. The blankets warmth is ignored due to the sheer cold of the might force of winter. Glistening diamonds fall from the sky and are woven into eh blanket giving it a new clean layer of light. At night the blanket glows from the light of the moon, and snowflakes like fireflies dance in the sky...
